The ADDAC Systems ADDAC311 Ultra Floor Control routes up to 5 expression pedals and footswitches into your Eurorack via a floor unit and module. It’s time to pedal in some stomping modulations.

This is what you’ve been missing all this time. Why use LFOs or programmed modulations when you can get your feet involved for some serious manually operated expression? I mean those two feet of mine have been standing around doing nothing while my hands and fingers are thoroughly involved in my modular. Most musicians use their feet for something so it’s time to bring these underutilized appendages into the game.

The ADDAC311 Ultra Floor Control consists of a footswitch box that sits on the floor and a Eurorack module that’s installed in your rack. They are connected via a chunky DB25 cable. The five footswitches can be configured as Gates, Triggers or to Latch until the next time you stomp on it. The ADDAC311 doesn’t come with any expression pedals but can accommodate up to 5 plugged into the back. Expression pedals from different manufacturers can vary enormously and so ADDAC has built-in some handy settings. You can swap the polarity, whether it’s toe-to-heel or heel-to-toe and there’s an attenuverter to keep the range under control.

At the other end of the DB25 cable, the 8HP Eurorack module breaks out into 5 Gate outputs from the switches and 5 CV outputs from the expression pedals. These you can patch into whatever it is you want your feet to achieve.

It’s a simple idea that ADDAC has done before with single expression pedal interfaces. This really goes the whole hog and could open up your feet to some serious controlling action. It gives me the impression that ADDAC is expecting me to be thinking about more than one thing at a time when making modular music. It is a wonderfully thorough solution.

The cost for the ADDAC311 floor unit and module is €380. The DB25 cable seems to be an optional extra which I don’t quite understand, but you should probably get in touch with ADDAC to confirm exactly what comes in the box.
